I've been thinking a lot about my art lately...I get disappointed because I have these ideas that never seem to work out how I want, or that I can't keep up with. I realized today though that creating things whether it be sewing Hunter a stuffed animal out of the bedding I made for his baby room, painting a room, or making anything...is part of what gives me balance, makes me feel good, creates new memories...and that in itself can be success :)

The fun continues around here....he even got a rockin' guitar cake for his birthday! The top of the room is done, I am just not finding the light fixture I had pictured, when I do there will be pictures to come, until then no light no photos :( Hunter is still thinking about his room, he is now contemplating an action theme...skateboarding and biking...a little tricked out. The creative juices are flowing!

Well...I've been busy painting...black!!! I was going to post a few pictures, but I may be a little frightened of my own vision so you will have to stay posted....it's looking like more of a rockstar room for a teenager than a five year old, yikes! The boys think it's "awesome" so I guess that is all that really matters!

Well, it wasn't as productive of a weekend as I had hoped for when it came to painting...but it is coming along. I forgot how much I loved painting and with the craziness of life lately it is really helping me relax! I am down to 7 guitar stems to paint and 18 done! I have to buy a deep red and purple, then it will be on to the dramatic finishing work, I can't wait for it to all come together!

The boys are really excited, I was thinking I probably should explain what we have going on here for those of you following who I haven't spoken to yet....we are currently in transition. Derek is in the process of moving in, we have been preparing Hunter for over a month now and he is really doing quite well at home, Derek's son is a few months younger than Hunter and it is his room that I am currently working on. The boys are so cute together, a ton of fun for us and some challenges too :0) Hunter's room was going to be first, but he can't quite make up his mind what he wants...first it was superheros, then pirates, and now Rock Star too....so his final decision will be hopefully made soon! I am just so thankful for a second chance, an incredibly wonderful man and hopefully God will continue to bless us with the family we have always wanted!!!

Holes are patched (thanks to Derek :) and guitars are drawn....goal is to have the entire top portion of the room done for Thursday night! Now, I just need some energy!!!

I hope the rest of this project goes smoother than my trip to the fabric store!!! I'm not sure when people stopped being able to use calculators....but really?!?! Oh boy! Anyway, Home Depot went well....and I am off to an exciting start! Have to hire a little handywork (a cute little boyfriend :) to patch some holes tomorrow then I can finish the wall...don't be scared...but there are black walls and ceiling coming soon!!!!

Hunter's old nursery is beginning its renovation! Pastels to extremely dark colors! I'm about to make a trip to JoAnn Fabrics for the bedding inspiration...then Home Depot for the final colors...a few guitars already sketched....we are officially...
